New Items for the end 2022
These beauties are hot off the workshop bench just in time for Christmas. The table light is a miniature harp that I have cleaned up and threaded with battery powered LED lights. Its so pretty but also not too feminine. In fact it almost looks like the Guiness heart.
The standing lamp is made from a washing dolly that I picked up at the car boot sale in France during the summer. It has come up really well with a sand and a varnish. I’ve added a bulb holder with flex, an inline switch and a 13 amp plug. All my items come PAT tested. I had so much fun making these.
Click on the image to be taken directly to my Etsy shop if you would like to purchase. These are definitely one off original items.
Where the magic happens
This is me in the workshop.
My Summer Collection ’22
I have been busy all summer and now find myself with some very interesting items that I have acquired from friends and also from a car boot sale in rural France. I thought I would share some them on here so you can see some of the things I’m working on. Please get in touch if you have any quirky ideas of what I could turn them into (even better if you want to commission them, but all ideas are welcome)
Exhaust Lamp Finished !
I have finally completed the exhaust lamp. It took a while but I am really happy with the result. I can easily be commissioned to make similar if this is something you like.
Summertime 2022
BBQs and outdoor activities are giving me so many project ideas for now and next season. I’m very busy collecting things from friends who are having a clear out and these are giving me even more ideas. My mind is bursting!! I need to make space and time to convert all of these into some Quirky Things that I know you will love.
Exhaust Lamp
I picked up an old exhaust manifold from a Renault Clio Sport, the shape of which suggested a lamp to me. I have fabricated a custom base out of 2″ square steel which I have sprayed gunmetal grey. This sets off the matt black of the exhaust beautifully.
24 May 2022 roundup
The baby grand piano (soon-to-be bookcase) is stripped right back and in the workshop ready to be sanded. This is such an exciting project. I used my blow torch to strip back the veneer and found beautiful wood underneath. I have also nearly finished off some commissioned steel garden gates ready to be fitted next week.
Finally, I have been cleaning up an exhaust manifold to make a lamp. This is going to be stunning.
7 May 2022 roundup
This week I have picked up an upright piano and a baby grand piano. We have started stripping down the baby grand which I am going to turn into bookshelves. The upright will be a bar. Pictures to follow. The light evenings allow me the time to work longer hours and being outside in the sunshine instead of in the workshop is just lovely.
